iKnowtion’s MAX08 Forum Plays to Full House
Impressive Group of Speakers Assembled to Discuss Trends in Marketing Analytics

BURLINGTON, Mass. – October 20, 2008 – iKnowtion, a premier marketing and analytics consulting firm, reported today that its inaugural forum dedicated to marketing analytics, the 2008 Marketing Analytics Xchange (MAX08), was a great success. On September 17, a group of distinguished industry executives and academics discussed and debated the future of marketing analytics with a sold-out crowd of over 100 attendees from more than 30 companies at the Marriott Long Wharf Hotel in Boston.

“When we decided to host this forum, our hope was that it would offer the best opportunity for businesses and practitioners to come together to examine the emerging role of marketing analytics,” said William Duffy, Managing Partner of iKnowtion. “We think we accomplished our goal, and are so encouraged by the response to MAX08 that we are already talking about another event next year.”

“Also, there seems to be great interest in continuing the dialogue and, in fact, we’re exploring various options to keep it going,” added Duffy.

Dr. Thomas H. Davenport, author of Competing on Analytics: the New Science of Winning, discussed in his keynote address the importance of analytically-based decision making and presented his views on what it takes to become an analytic competitor. Three lively panel sessions followed with representatives from major companies talking about a range of topics, including how to instill an analytic culture within a business, using marketing analytics to drive incremental value, and, with a nod toward the latest marketing trend, measuring the impact of social media.

“There was great interaction between the speakers and the attendees, and we were happy to see the conversations continuing even after the event had officially ended,” said Duffy. “I think MAX08 tapped into a wellspring of interest in marketing analytics, which we think will only increase as more businesses realize the value that marketing analytics can deliver.”
